Meetings

Spring 2026: Wednesdays, 7pm, LEEP2 1420

We cycle through the different meeting types each month, beginning with General Body, then Project, then NEWB, then Project again.

Our focus is to give updates on the current state of projects, upcoming social and fundraising events, and to build connections within the organization.

This is where our work gets done: we focus on completing designs, organizing documents, and planning events. Anyone can attend, just be sure to bring a computer!

Members wanting to apply to travel with EWB-KU for international projects MUST attend 2/3rds of the scheduled project meetings.

Our focus is to provide new and prospective members with the basic functions and goals of our chapter, and to show them what involvement looks like. Attend these to qualify for NEWB graduation

SOCIAL EVENTS

Our chapter hosts monthly social events, which are aimed at providing a space and time for new and returning members to get to know each other outside of an academic setting. Our past social events have included:

  • Bonfire + S’mores
  • EWBowling
  • Ice Cream Social
  • Game Night
  • EWB Olympics
  • Gingerbread house making with KU’s USGBC (United States Green Building Council) Student Chapter

These events are open to all, and we hope to see you at our next one!

KANSAS CHAPTER MEET UP

Every year, EWB chapters from around Kansas meet up at a host college and spend the day discussing their chapters. In October of 2022, we offered to host this meet up at the University of Kansas. It started with a pot luck in a nearby park and then moved to our School of Engineering for chapter presentations and breakout rooms. The day concluded with a “the-only-rule-is-no-rules” tallest tower building competition and a tour of our engineering facilities for the visiting chapters.

We enjoyed getting to hang out and learn about our neighboring chapters and look forward to attending this event next year!
